Continuing Professional Development

MEI provides a number of ways in which teachers can continue their professional development:

• MEI Conference An annual 3-day conference for teachers of mathematics.

• GCSE CPD Training for new GCSE courses for teachers who want to help students understand mathematics and improve problem solving.

• A level Mathematics CPD MEI organised CPD days designed for teachers who want to widen their expertise in an area of A level Mathematics.

• Live, Online Professional Development Live, Online and Interactive Professional Development in Mathematics.

• Hosting a CPD course Are you interested in hosting CPD courses in your school or college?

• TAM Teaching Advanced Mathematics course.

• TFM Teaching Further Mathematics course.

• Use of ICT in Mathematics CPD is available in the use of ICT in Mathematics.

• Other CPD Relevant CPD organised by other bodies.

• Big Ideas in A level Mathematics Three 1-day courses designed to support teachers in their early years of teaching A level Mathematics looking at some of the big ideas in more depth.

MEI is also working on the ABCmaths project with London South Bank University and universities in Germany and Austria looking at the role of Big Ideas in Mathematics in CPD.
