Picturing Mathematics starters

• The starters are intended to be displayed, using a data projector or OHP, for students to work on at the start of the lesson.
• The starters are pitched at GCSE level.
• They lead into the mathematics in the main part of the lesson.
• They can be downloaded as pdf files and used offline.
• They are available free.
• The answer file contains an answer which can be displayed to students and teachers’ notes which indicate which mathematical topics the starter connects to – there may be several of these.
• The teachers’ notes also include additional questions which could be asked.
