MEI CPD at your school or college

Are you interested in hosting CPD courses in your school or college?

Some of the benefits of hosting a course

  • Courses can be designed to meet your specific needs;
  • They represent cost-effective INSET for your whole department;
  • They allow local schools and colleges to collaborate;
  • You don't have to travel to the event;
  • You can choose a date which is convenient for you.

Suggested courses

1 to 2 hour overviews are offered, free of charge, for each of the specifications: Foundations of Advanced Mathematics and AS Statistics. These will help you to understand the courses more fully and to see how you could introduce them at your centre. No charge is made but we do ask you to provide the venue and refreshments and to invite staff from other centres. This allows you to work with other schools and colleges in your area and it allows us to make more efficient use of our time.

The costs associated with the following courses are given at the bottom of this page.

Some of the above courses are MEI specific, others are not. In addition to these courses, we are happy to tailor courses to meet your needs. The table indicates the length of course we suggest but this is flexible. Two half-day courses can be combined to make a full day.

For further details please contact the MEI Programme Leader for CPD .

Working with other schools/colleges

You can invite teachers from other schools and colleges to join you and charge them a suitable fee to defray expenses. You would need to carry out the associated admin such as circulating details of the venue and collecting any course fees. You may choose to advertise the course locally. In addition, details of the course can be published on the MEI website, if you wish.

On the day

We ask you to provide refreshments and, for 1- and 2-day courses, lunch for all delegates.
We recommend that the host provides all delegates with a copy of the relevant MEI textbook as this is very useful for private study using the web resources; if necessary we can provide these at reduced cost from the MEI office.
