News: NCETM bursaries to support teacher attendance at the joint conference

NCETM is offering a significant number of bursaries to support teacher attendance at the joint Subject Conference ‘Joined up Mathematics’ at Keele University from 2nd to 5th April 2008. The bursary will be £300 payable to the school to be used by them at their discretion to support teacher attendance. There is an application form available via the NCETM portal.  All applicants need to be registered on the NCETM portal.

These are termed as “impact bursaries” and there is a requirement that the teacher will identify an area of mathematics development where attendance at the conference will support their endeavors to bring impact. There is also a requirement for the Head teacher to endorse the teacher attendance and proposed “impact”

Note that the deadline is 29 February 2008 and that bursaries are for teachers working in the state-maintained schools in England.

If any members have difficulty locating or accessing this form and information about the joint conference please let Colin Matthews know (colin.matthews@ncetm.org.uk ) ASAP.

This is an NCETM pilot and they are evaluating the whole process, including the issues of access to the bursaries.   One of the things they will be recording is the number of applications they receive.  They therefore need to be sure that everyone who is interested has been able to access the information. If you need further information please ask.
