Branches of MEI

MEI has a number of branches around the country. These are local groupings of teachers who meet two or three times a year.

Branches are a vital communication link within MEI and provide a forum for feedback about national consultations, new developments, changes to specifications and reviews of recent examination papers.
In addition at the branch meetings there are opportunities to:

  • discuss the latest developments in mathematics education
  • share and discuss resources for teaching mathematics
  • receive information, guidance and support from colleagues and MEI professional officers about teaching different aspects of GCSE and A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics
  • take part in professional development, tailored to the needs of the group
  • discover new and interesting areas of mathematics that can enrich the learning of your students

In addition to the meetings, branch members receive news and updates about MEI events and projects, together with national mathematics developments. MEI professional officers offer sessions to interested groups of teachers and students at MEI branch meetings or elsewhere.
